Final Project Meeting in Bucharest
7–10 November 2025
Retrospect, Evaluation and Future Transition
The final project meeting of phōnē took place in Bucharest and marked a moment of reflection, celebration, and planning ahead. Hosted by Teatrul Evreiesc de Stat (TES), the gathering brought together all project partners, new collaborators, and a broad international audience.
The meeting began on 7 November with a public press conference to introduce the upcoming programme and invite local and international stakeholders. A moving retrospective film opened the first official meeting day, revisiting nearly three years of artistic exchange, conferences, premieres, and deep cross-border collaboration.
Each partner theatre and university shared their personal highlights, key challenges, and most meaningful moments of the project. This was followed by a short evaluation summary presented by Nathalie and Frederiek, offering insights into the impact of phōnē. The evaluation confirmed the project’s significant contribution to visibility, artistic development, and community engagement across all partner regions.

The International Theatre Night that same evening brought together multilingual performances and readings (see full programme) and set the tone for the emotional and artistic depth of the meeting.
On the following day, artistic directors engaged in a focused qualitative evaluation session with the evaluation team, while authors and actors explored Romanian cultural heritage during a guided excursion to the National Village Museum “Dimitrie Gusti” – an open-air museum offering immersive insight into traditional Romanian rural life and architecture.
In the afternoon, future partners and existing members gathered to discuss the continuation of the collaboration and to shape the next joint project proposal – ensuring the legacy of phōnē will continue to grow.
