The practice-based research that the research group Image in Context conducts focuses on new roles, practices and work procedures for artists. We research how artists can fulfil their roles within social, political, educational and intercultural domains.
Image in Context is liaised to Minerva Art Academy and is part of the research centre Art & Society, which also includes the research groups Lifelong Learning in Music, Art & Sustainability and Art Education.
The research group Image in Context works in an open, inclusive and creative way. We deliberately use the different ways artists work as catalysts in social changing processes, working together in a team of researchers, teachers, students and social partners. We are giving direction to the participation society of the 21st century, based on transdisciplinary learning environments and co-creative work procedures with artists and designers.
