Our policy

Our goal is an accessible website that meets the needs of our visitors while respecting everyone’s rights and expectations. We request personal data only where and to the extent necessary. We do not provide personal data to third parties. Nor do we use your data to send you anything without your consent. In doing so, we follow the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) of 25 May 2018.

Data

Privacy refers to personal data of which it is possible to find out, to whom it belongs. Some you provide consciously as a visitor, and others the website collects in the background.

Data you provide yourself

When registering for the newsletter, your name and e-mail address are requested. For the proper processing of an online purchase, a little more data is required. We ask for your name, gender, address details, date of birth and e-mail address. Telephone number is voluntary. Furthermore, you can voluntarily indicate whether you want to receive mail from us and in which language we can communicate with you. We also use personal data – anonymously – for statistical analyses of our visitors. What you enter during your payment is invisible to us. This screens off the payment authority.

phōnē asks for postcode and house number to send news items that are only locally relevant to the addresses concerned. That way you won’t receive unnecessary mail. Tryater asks for date of birth because younger audiences have different needs than older audiences. We try to be effective in our messaging. In addition, as a subsidised institution, Tryater is obliged by the government to share information about the make-up of our audience (anonymously). All personal data provided are processed anonymously.

Automatically collected data

To surf the internet, your PC has an Internet Protocol address or IP address, a type of telephone number. We record the IP address used with every online purchase. Cookies are small text files that a website can create on your computer, containing data about your visit. On your next visit, the website can read the file, if it still exists. phōnē uses cookies only where necessary to secure online purchases (those cookies are automatically deleted when you log out) or to remember choices made while visiting our website (those cookies do not contain any sensitive information).

This website uses Google Analytics. That sets cookies to record your site usage and stores data about it (including your IP address) on servers in the USA. It uses this data to compile statistics for website operators and to offer other services. Google provides this data to third parties if required by law, or if these third parties process the data on Google’s behalf. Google does not combine your IP address with other data in its possession. By using this website, you consent to this data processing by Google.

View and change

You can view and change your account details via ‘Login > My account’. You can also view your purchases here. You can change all your personal data. Upon request, we will delete your account completely. However, we are legally obliged to retain certain data. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter via ‘My account’, or via the hyperlink in the mailing itself.

Security

Your data are stored in a data centre with extensive security. Online payments are made via renowned payment providers in secure, encrypted processes. The exchange of account data is also secured with SSL encryption. However, please also ensure optimal security of your own equipment and handle your login data with care.
