Lutz Hillmann was born in Bischofswerda in 1959. He is married and has three children.
After school, he completed vocational training as a “skilled worker for operating, measuring and control technology (BMSR)”. He works as an air-conditioning technician at the Städtische Bühnen Leipzig. After completing his basic military service, he studied at the “Hans Otto” Theater Academy in Leipzig from 1981 to 1985.
Lutz Hillmann’s first acting engagement was in the 1984/85 season at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. In 1985 he received his diploma as an actor. Since 1985 Lutz Hillmann is engaged as an actor at the Deutsch-Sorbisches Volkstheater Bautzen. From 1991 to 1997 he is a member of the acting management and directs. In 1998 Lutz Hillmann is appointed as Intendant.
