Head of Marketing & PR
Berber studied Dutch language and literature at the University of Groningen, majoring in internal and external communication. She has been a communications consultant and manager for over 25 years now. First at commercial organizations and a communication consultancy and since 2003 in the cultural sector. In that year she started as head of marketing at the city theatre in Leeuwarden, the capital of the Dutch province Friesland.
Since the end of 2008 she has been an independent culture marketer. She combines short-term consultancy work with longer projects and interim assignments. Clients are mainly theatres, companies, governments, and libraries. Since her work for Lân fan taal (“land of languages”) – the project on multilingualism during Leeuwarden-Fryslân European Capital of Culture 2018 – multilingualism has become more and more part of her work.
She has been head of marketing & PR ad interim for Tryater since April 2021. She also does the marketing for Leeuwarden UNESCO City of Literature.
